In October 2022, Ruby Hotels<\/a> introduced a 35-hour work week at the same 40-h salary across all their locations in Europe, in hotels, workspaces and reservations department. This initiative aimed not only to attract new talent, but also to increase the engagement of their existing team members and take their feedback seriously. Moreover, they even introduced a four-day work week in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n After a year and a half, they surveyed their employees again, and an overwhelming majority of 76% of their employees feel that the switch to a 35-hour working week was a great decision. They feel happier, more energetic and more balanced. The extra time is actively used for sports and other relaxing activities, which improves concentration at work and overall quality of life. Ruby is proud that this measure has been implemented at all its locations in Europe, highlighting the company’s role as a leader in modern working practices in the hospitality industry.
