From the 14th of February 2024, on the day of love, available throughout the Netherlands: the one and only Bosshardtje, a cookie named after Major Bosshardt, who in 2009 was elected the Greatest Amsterdammer of all time. Created by the Foundation Eberhardjes Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

Cookies from Amsterdam | A Eberhardje and now also a Bosshardtje <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Foundation Eberhardjes Amsterdam<\/a>, known for the beloved Eberhard cookies, is teaming up with the Leger des Heils. The Bosshardtje, a new cookie named after Major Bosshardt, will be the “sister” of the Eberhardje that owes its name to Eberhard van der Laan. The Bosshardtje is a heart-shaped buttercream cookie with cinnamon flavor, sprinkled with a sugar coating for a \u2018feminine sparkle\u2019. It represents the second cookie in the family of Amsterdam cookies and stands for \u2018taking good care of the city and each other\u2019.<\/p>\n

Bosshardtje is inspired by the cinnamon rusk<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The unique taste of the Bosshardtje was inspired by the tea with cinnamon rusks served by Major Bosshardt during her conversations with homeless people, addicts and sex workers in the Red Light District in Amsterdam. Like the proceeds from the Eberhardjes that support Amsterdam’s connecting projects, the net proceeds from the Bosshardtjes are donated to projects through the Leger des Heils Amsterdam. In doing so, the initiators in Amsterdam aim to inspire the rest of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Cooperation arises from connection<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A spontaneous meeting on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal in Amsterdam<\/a>, where both Stichting Eberhardjes Amsterdam and the Leger des Heils are located, led to a unique collaboration. During a “neighborly visit” to the Majoor Bosshardthuis<\/a>, where Eberhardjes are sold, they suggested the idea for a new cookie: the Bosshardtje. Inspired by this idea, R\u00e9salieke Vlieger and Ineke Kuiper, the driving forces behind the Eberhardje, successfully developed the Bosshardtje. This new cookie reflects the shared values of connection in the neighborhood and between local residents of both organizations.<\/p>\n

Take good care of our city and each other: a growing movement<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The collaboration with the Leger des Heils is yet another important step in the positive growth of the movement that Foundation Eberhardjes Amsterdam is establishing. The initiators are convinced of the importance of cooperation and connection over personal gain, an approach that is attracting more businesses and people. Thanks to the growing group of entrepreneurs selling or serving Eberhardjes and Bosshardtjes, this positive movement is expanding. In a time of increasing social polarization, the Eberhardjes and Bosshardtjes emphasize the importance of interconnectedness and caring for each other and the city.<\/p>\n

Where can you buy the Bosshardtjes?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Bosshardtje will be launched in both Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands on February 14. You will be able to buy Bosshardtjes at the Majoor Bosshardthuis<\/a>, the store of the Eberhardjes<\/a> and online<\/a>.
