In its development, Magnicity is collaborating with Amsterdam-based design agency NorthernLight and Groenendijk Engineering from Bodegraven. The spiral tower should become a major eye-catcher in the world’s biggest cities.<\/p>\n

The future of urban leisure, with low environmental impact<\/h3>\n

The Spiral Tower<\/a> is designed to be a must-see attraction in any city. The tower takes residents and tourists on a breathtaking spiral journey to the top. In innovative electrically controlled cabins with 360-degree views, they observe the city from above. The tower itself is a kind of next-generation Ferris wheel, blending seamlessly into the urban landscape. Not only is the design futuristic, the Spiral Tower is also the future of urban recreation. It is a modern, sustainable attraction that can be adapted to any space and is environmentally friendly and energy efficient. It is the first high-altitude attraction to operate without CO2 impact, thanks to energy regeneration and its own energy production. The tower will be powered by solar panels integrated into the design. Each cabin has 360-degree visibility and generates its own energy during descent, making it energy self-sufficient. Inside the tower is a vertical garden, which is not only beautiful and spectacular, but also absorbs some of the city’s environmental pollution. Responsible urban tourism, respecting the environment and the local community.<\/p>\n

A unique and innovative attraction<\/h3>\n

The Spiral Tower’s design is highly customisable in terms of base, appearance and operation. The Spiral Tower is available in four sizes, ranging from 60 meters to more than 150 meters high. Its lightweight steel structure and ease of installation make it suitable for all environments. The tower can even be dismantled and moved relatively easily. The base of the tower, where the boarding platform is and visitors are welcomed, can be extended with shops, restaurants, exhibitions and interactive routes.<\/p>\n

The vertical structure is crucial to the experience and excitement. Around this structure, transparent electric booths spiral to the top of the tower and then descend again. The tour lasts 15 to 25 minutes. Each cabin can be customized and equipped with interactive augmented reality screens to enhance visibility. Literally and figuratively, the highlight is the panoramic platform, with breathtaking 360-degree views from the top of the tower. Activities such as virtual or augmented reality experiences, educational activities and entertainment activities can be organised here, and a lounge area or bar can be installed.<\/p>\n

Because the Spiral Tower’s structure is highly modular, each model becomes unique. It allows for customisation depending on the geographical location and the expected number of visitors.<\/p>\n

International project of Dutch origin<\/h3>\n

The concept was developed by Marc Groenendijk at Dutch engineering firm KCI, where he also worked on the London Eye and the Dubai Wheel. KCI joined forces with NorthernLight in 2020 to refine the concept and design. In September 2023, Magnicity<\/a> bought the concept and patent, to then further develop the Spiral Tower with NorthernLight<\/a> and Groenendijk Engineering (founded by Marc Groenendijk).<\/p>\n

Magnicity already has a link to the Netherlands, where it owns Rotterdam’s Euromast. It also owns three other urban ‘observatories’: the Paris Montparnasse Observatory, the Berlin TV Tower and the 360 Chicago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
