Bringing caf\u00e9 culture to Claridge\u2019s for the very first time, the legendary Mayfair hotel has opened the doors to Claridge\u2019s ArtSpace Caf\u00e9, with its own dedicated entrance on Brook\u2019s Mews bedecked with awning and flag.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Claridge\u2019s ArtSpace Caf\u00e9 | For breakfast, lunch, savoury and sweet patisserie<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Open daily with a focus on breakfast and lunch, the <\/span>Claridge\u2019s ArtSpace Caf\u00e9<\/span><\/a> offers a vibrant menu with cr\u00eapes as a signature, alongside tortillas, toasties, croque monsieurs and madames, mega madeleines and, naturally, Claridge\u2019s cakes galore. Designed by renowned British architectural designer John Pawson, the Caf\u00e9 features a patisserie counter, marble communal table as a central spot, and entry down to Claridge\u2019s ArtSpace \u2013 a vast gallery which rotates exhibitions, free for all to view. At the ArtSpace Caf\u00e9, everything (even champagne!) is designed for takeaway for those on the move, allowing Claridge\u2019s to be eaten alfresco or \u2018al desko\u2019 for the very first time.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Freshly made in front of guests all day, and in a variety of sweet and savoury guises, cr\u00eapes are a menu staple. These range from lemon and sugar for purists, to the ultimate indulgence as <\/span>Claridge\u2019s<\/span><\/a> presents its longtime iconic Seafood Cocktail in cr\u00eape form. This hero dish features native lobster, white crab meat, lettuce and quail\u2019s egg, laced with Marie-Rose sauce and topped with lashings of caviar, all enveloped in a cr\u00eape. Daily Caf\u00e9 life starts with pastries galore, fresh from the Claridge\u2019s bakery, alongside coconut chia pudding, homemade granola and hot dishes including baked eggs with ratatouille. Lunch heroes include roasted brie and wild mushroom on toast, croissant sandwiches and the Claridge\u2019s croque madame. Coffee, kombucha & champagne to go<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Artisan coffee is by independent Cornwall-born <\/span>Origin Coffee<\/span><\/a>, chai lattes are spiked with turmeric for a kick start to the day, and blocks of chocolate emblazoned with the Claridge\u2019s crest, dunked into hot milk, make the Caf\u00e9\u2019s signature hot chocolate. With juices, smoothies and kombuchas aplenty, champagne \u2013 a tipple poured from dawn until dusk at Claridge\u2019s \u2013 is also on the menu, served in takeaway coffee cups, caf\u00e9 style. A central glass counter showcases rows of <\/span>Executive Pastry Chef Thibault Hauchard\u2019s<\/a> patisserie<\/span> from caramel Saint Honor\u00e9 to pistachio Paris-Brest.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/b>Claridge\u2019s ArtSpace <\/span><\/b>Caf\u00e9\u2019s design by John Pawson<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Caf\u00e9 is designed in <\/span>John Pawson<\/span><\/a>\u2019s signature minimalist aesthetic – an expanse of contemporary white walls and a pale grey terrazzo floor. Custom furniture in ash wood, white Carrara marble, soft leather banquettes, brass hardware and black and white photographs taken by Pawson himself accent the space. Cutlery is found in hidden draws within the tables and a central communal table sits ten, a spot for creative Mayfair gatherings.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The gallery space<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Both the Caf\u00e9 and <\/span>the gallery space<\/span><\/a> continue Claridge\u2019s longtime commitment to the arts and further cement its position at the centre of the thriving Mayfair art community. The ArtSpace Caf\u00e9 will be a creative hub within the hotel, with exhibitions rotating in the gallery space and the Caf\u00e9 hosting art moments in its own right. Ceramics full of Sharpies and Claridge\u2019s chevron pencils will be dotted round the space, as well as art paper pads, for those who wish to sit and sketch or doodle on the caf\u00e9\u2019s sustainable coffee cups. In support of the next generation of artists, the first 50 art students who show their ID every Monday will receive a complimentary coffee.
