Friesdrank is the tasty result of the collaboration between a Frisian wine specialist, a Frisian cheese maker and a Frisian beer brewer. This new Frisian soft drink is made partly from whey, a residual product from cheese-making. The whey gives Friesdrank a sustainable touch as well as a special flavour. The introduction will take place at the upcoming HorecaEvenTT in Leeuwarden.<\/p>\n

Addition of whey provides a touch of sustainability<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This new soda’s sustainable touch lies in the addition of whey. Whey is the liquid created in cheese-making after curdling the milk. From making one kilo of cheese, made of 10 litres of milk, \u00a0remains nine litres of whey. By applying De Molkerei’s residual whey as an ingredient of Friesdrank, it becomes a valuable raw material.<\/p>\n

Friesdrank will be introduced at the regional HorecaEvenTT<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Friesdrank can be tasted at Cru68’s stand 540 at the HorecaEvenTT<\/a> in the city of Leeuwarden from 13 to 15 February. The soft drink was developed by Johannes van der Wal (Cru68 Wine Trade<\/a>), Hedy Hartog (De Molkerei Geitenuivel van het Wad<\/a>) and Ulco de Jong (De Kroon brewery in Leeuwarden<\/a>). This soft drink has a special claim: the creamiest soft drink in Friesland.
