And a social initiative in Rotterdam, <strong>&#8216;Heat and Eat&#8217;<\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>H\u00f4tel Plaza Ath\u00e9n\u00e9\u00e9 has teamed up with the talented fine art photographer Gray Malin for a photo shoot with dogs, great images on <strong>\u2018My Dogs from Paris\u2019<\/strong>! And in San Francisco restaurant Dogue serves <strong>a tasting menu for your dog<\/strong>. Some dogs have so much luxury around them. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Interesting initiative in London where <strong>Head Room Caf\u00e9<\/strong> brings awareness and access to mental health support. And <strong>ghost kitchen chain Casper<\/strong> from Belgium recently also launched in the Dutch cities The Hague and Rotterdam. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Last week, the hotels <strong>Moxy the Hague<\/strong> and <strong>Residence Inn by Marriott the Hague<\/strong> were officially opened, located in the Muzentoren in the city center. And chef Bart De Pooter opened his plant-based <strong>restaurant WILDn<\/strong> at the Sapphire House Antwerp. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The last week of September New York enjoyed \u2018La vie en rose\u2019 by <strong>Maison Valentino<\/strong>, a great example of going \u2018Pink all the way\u2019. Taking place throughout the month of October, Hard Rock locations around the world are participating in fundraising efforts supporting the Hard Rock Heals Foundation\u00ae, the charitable arm of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hardrockcafe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hard Rock\u00ae<\/a>, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and local charities. Last year, Hard Rock raised over $700,000, representing the largest amount the company has fundraised since the inception of the program back in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Kicking off this year&#8217;s PINKTOBER activities is a special partnership and highly-anticipated dinner series with world-renowned chef and breast cancer survivor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dominiquecrenn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dominique Crenn<\/a>. Hard Rock will also offer PINKTOBER limited-edition menu items, specially designed merchandise, a song writing contest and more. More details in their press release, link in the title.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotspothutspot.nl\/2022\/09\/28\/heat-and-eat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Initiative in Rotterdam | &#8216;Heat and Eat&#8217;<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Sorry this is a Dutch link but in short: two companies, Hotspot hutspot and talentfabriek010, have launched \u2018Heat and Eat\u2019. Some 20 Heat and Eat restaurants and coffeeshops are already participating in this initiative and any restaurant or coffee shop can join. At these restaurants or coffee shops, the heating is on anyway and you are also welcome without ordering anything. If you are lucky, you will find a free voucher for a cup of coffee or soup, or maybe even a meal, near the cash register. Paid for by someone who can spare it, and is happy to give it to you! This organization is appealing to those who can afford to donate. Every restaurant can join, more information on their website.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative resembles what we also saw a while ago: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/an-ice-cream-on-hold\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caffe sospeso<\/a> from Italy and in America the &#8216;random acts of kindness&#8217; has been a household word in the hospitality industry for years. Dutch people eat about 38 kilotons of avocados per year (source: CBS). According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/onethird.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OneThird,<\/a> about 5.7 kilotons of avocados are wasted annually, before they reach consumers&#8230;. OneThird developed a scanner to determine the ripeness of avocados and received a voucher from the Foundation Together Against Food Waste to test this on the shop floor. In an earlier, successful pilot, the avocado scanner was deployed at a large retailer&#8217;s distribution center to detect &#8216;less ripe&#8217;, &#8216;ripe&#8217; and &#8216;overripe&#8217; batches of avocados. However, the question remains what ripeness consumers want and when they want to use the avocado. By monitoring ripeness in shop and communicating it to customers, OneThird aims to reduce waste. Interesting initiative we spotted on the website of Secret London, link in the title. Head Room Caf\u00e9 in Golders Green seems to be a cute coffee shop that is actually much more than a place to stop for a cappuccino and a slice of cake. The social enterprise caf\u00e9 is actively helping to remove the stigma of mental illness, while encouraging guests to talk openly about mental health. More details in the title.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/food-drink\/dining\/dogue-dog-tasting-menu-1234756850\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Restaurant Dogue in San Francisco serves a tasting menu for your dog<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The three-course meal is only available on Sundays for walk-ins (the rest of the week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dogue.sf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dogue <\/a>sells Parisian pastries and \u2018doguccinos\u2019). While the dishes rotate frequently based on what\u2019s in season, your pup can expect items like organic beef chuck steak with fermented carrots and beets, as well as green-lipped mussels with fermented carrots and wheatgrass. Owner of Dogue, Massarweh even consulted with his vet to ensure that everything is complete, balanced and made with dog-safe ingredients. The spaces in the Muzentoren have had a redesign by International Hotel Capital Partners and are transformed from offices into two hotels with a total of over 300 rooms. The hotels are located in the Resident area in downtown The Hague. Moxy the Hague has 185 hotel rooms. The hotel also has a lounge with 140 seats. Residence Inn by Marrtiott the Hague is designed for longer stays and features 127 studios and flats with fully equipped kitchens. The hotel is linked to Moxy the Hague to provide access to a shared bar. The long-awaited plant-based restaurant opened its doors at Sapphire House Antwerp.
