concrete is proud to announce Zoku Copenhagen is opening its doors, the second hotel to open following Amsterdam. The workmeetsplay hotel concept has been created for the global nomad. Zoku is a homeoffice hybrid, also suitable for long stays, with the facilities of a hotel and the social buzz of a thriving neighbourhood. A relaxed place to live, work and socialise with likeminded people while getting wired into the city.<\/p>\n

Zoku Amsterdam<\/a> opened back in 2016 and it was one of the first workmeetsplay hotel concepts we spotted. Last week<\/a> we spotted an interesting article about the future of the technology in the hospitality world with examples like the more apartment proptech startups Mint House, Kasa Living and WhyHotel. It reminded us of \u00a0Zoku Amsterdam, a more compact concept, with now a second hotel in Copenhagen, Zoku Vienna almost ready to open and Zoku Paris under construction.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Act local at Zoku Copenhagen<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Coming by bike like a typical Copenhagen resident or via a short metro-ride from the airport, the building is clearly recognisable due to its iconic Scandinavian red colour. The hybrid building is designed by Danish architectural firm Arkitema<\/a> and is located on the Amagerf\u00e6lledvej 108 in the Amager neighbourhood. On top of the red brick building block concrete<\/a> and Arkitema designed a loose pavilion on the top floor for the public (social) spaces.<\/p>\n

Guests arrive in a greenhouse drenched with daylight and full of greenery, which enhances the feel of a city oasis. The greenhouse guides guests to the bar & living rooms where a Zoku<\/a> sidekick will welcome and help them find their way in their temporary home; the full Zoku experience can begin. ‘You\u2019ve tried working from home. Now, it\u2019s time to work from anywhere.’ – zoku – words from Zoku: “Harnessing The Work From Anywhere Landscape”<\/p>\n

The Zoku loft<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A loft at Zoku is much more than just a hotel room. It is a spacious micro-apartment, or, better yet, the \u2018Zoku Loft\u2019. Here, Zoku and concrete identified, designed and positioned all functions and needs of the global nomad in an intelligent way, creating an interior module that enhances the sense of spaciousness and functionality. In addition to the two standard Zoku lofts, a wide and a deep version, concrete developed three new loft types for Copenhagen specifically. Zoku Copenhagen has 160 rooms.<\/p>\n

Zoku is founded by Hans Meyer and Marc Jongerius.
