We pick the most interesting ones to write about, the smaller trends we use in our weekly column \u2018Trends we spotted this week\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><em>This week, amongst others a link to an article about a special collaboration between the restaurant of the Andaz Amsterdam and Heinz ketchup, a menu called \u2018In case Ed Sheeran\u2019. \u00a0And have you got any idea what the ingredients are for a dish called \u2018Musubi Madness\u2019?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We also read an article about a dumpling made with lab-grown kangaroo meat and another \u2018veggie\u2019 collaboration; Beyond Meat and Subway introduced the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub this September.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Gateway Foundation says it will open its first space hotel in 2025, check out their artist impression of the \u2018Space Wheel\u2019 hotel. And the new Raaago app, developed by German design group Random Access Studios, aims to make travel more interesting by making it random.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And Starbucks is rolling out the Chinese \u2018Starbucks Now\u2019-concept. Enjoy reading!<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foodbeast.com\/news\/spam-musubi-madness-pop-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Introducing Musubi Madness | A pop-up serving a customizable SPAM\u00ae Musubi<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>There will be some Dutch people that know the brand SPAM\u00ae but for those that don\u2019t know it, it\u2019s a kind of SMAC (canned meat) which is sold more often in the Netherlands. We used to eat during camping in our youth! The American brand SPAM\u00ae is canned meat which is often served in baked slices. In cooperation with the website Foodbeast.com they opened a pop-up in the first three Saturdays in September in restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lonohollywood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LONO Hollywood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the amazing dishes they create like the Musubi Madness and corn dogs! The Musubi Madness is a kind of big sushi with a slice of SPAM\u00ae and you can create your own Musubi at this pop-up. They even serve a \u2018soft serve SPAM\u00ae\u2019 and tropical drinks in SPAM\u00ae cans!<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B16Yk5fI7Yd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Andaz with Heinz ketchup | An exclusive \u2018In Case of Ed Sheeran\u2019 menu <\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Inspired by Ed Sheeran&#8217;s love for Heinz ketchup! The Blue Spoon restaurant at the Andaz hotel in Amsterdam partnered with Heinz to make an exclusive \u2018In Case of Ed Sheeran\u2019 menu. The menu was available for only two weeks as from Tuesday 3rd September. They served a beef tenderloin with a splash of Heinz ketchup on the side for example. Link in the title!<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/luxurylaunches.com\/travel\/the-worlds-first-space-hotel-with-artificial-gravity-is-set-to-open-doors-by-2025.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The World\u2019s first space hotel with artificial gravity is set to open doors by 2025<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>After the news on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=upIkUNBzL_Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Orion Span\u2019s Aurora station<\/a> \u2013 the world\u2019s very first Luxury Space Hotel, we spotted back in 2018, we now have an update on yet another venture that promises to take those in love with galaxies for the spin of their lives! In 2025 The Gateway Foundation will open doors to its first-ever space hotel that also doubles as the only commercial space station of its kind to be open to the public. Link in the title!<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/subculture.subway.com\/articles\/eat\/subway-and-beyond-meat-team-create-plant-based-sub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Beyond Meat &amp; Subway <\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Two weeks ago we wrote about Kentucky Fried Chicken\u00ae that was the first national U.S. QSR (quick service restaurant) to introduce a plant-based chicken, in partnership with Beyond Meat\u00ae. On August 27 the \u2018chicken\u2019 by Beyond Meat was sold out in no time. In September Subway will introduce the \u2018Beyond Meatball Marinara sub\u2019 in 685 participating restaurants in Canada and the U.S. for a limited time only.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springwise.com\/innovation\/travel-tourism\/random-access-go-app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>A personalised travel guide <\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The new Raaago app, developed by German design group Random Access Studios, aims to make travel more interesting by making it random. The smart phone-accessible travel guide allows users to enter their location and their goal (eating, drinking, sightseeing, etc). The guide will then present users with a curated choice \u2013 a nearby sushi restaurant perhaps and a bar for drinks afterwards. It will not only include suggestions, but also advice on booking the chosen restaurant or suggested club. In addition, the site offers real-time weather updates to make planning easier.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springwise.com\/innovation\/food\/lab-grown-kangaroo-meat-australia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The first dumpling made from lab-grown kangaroo meat<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Australian startup Vow is taking clean-meat to the next level by offering a greater variety of lab-grown products in products like dumplings and tacos. Vow aims to provide a greater variety of meat without killing animals or compromising limited resources. Currently,\u00a0lab-grown meat\u00a0is mostly limited to\u00a0beef\u00a0and more recently also\u00a0chicken. Vow is taking lab-grown meat a step further by focusing on exotic animals that are largely inaccessible for general consumption. For example, the start-up has created the world\u2019s first dumpling made with cultivated kangaroo meat. But their kangaroo meat hasn\u2019t been approved for human consumption yet.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-09-05\/starbucks-ceo-s-new-ideas-start-with-a-pick-up-only-store-in-nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Starbucks Pick-Up-Only Store in NYC<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>A pick-up caf\u00e9 in New York is set to open this fall to cater busy coffee-drinkers on the go. The Manhattan store, which is still in development, will build off of the chain\u2019s success with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/starbucks-now-starbucks-unveiled-their-express-retail-store-experience-in-beijing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Starbucks Now concept<\/a> in China that lets customers order in\u00a0advance\u00a0on mobile phones and collect their items in a specialty \u2018express\u2019 shop without the wait. Starbucks could eventually roll out similar pick-up locations in other cities including Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Johnson said.
