Within a couple of days there will be a lot of stirring and shaking during the eleventh edition of the BACARD\u00cd Legacy Cocktail Competition. The competition challenges bartenders from all over the world to design an original BACARD\u00cd rum cocktail with no more than 6 ingredients. The competition will be held in Amsterdam this year, with the final on Tuesday 14 May. These Olympic games for bartenders will start on Saturday 11 May with an introduction and workshops.<\/p>\n

The world’s largest cocktail competition<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The BACARD\u00cd Legacy Cocktail Competition was created to challenge bartenders to create a modern cocktail that could stand the test of time, such as the now famous Mojito, Daiquir\u00ed and Old Cuban. Since then, the competition has become one of the world’s largest cocktail competitions, receiving thousands of entries every year. This year 43 bartenders are competing. But whoever takes the prize home, each of the participants wins a place within the growing BACARD\u00cd LEGACY ‘Gran Familia’.<\/p>\n

BACARD\u00cd Legacy Cocktail Competition 2018 | “Te tengo cari\u00f1o”<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Last year the prize was won by none other than the Dutchman Eric van Beek. Eric is Bar Manager at 6-star hotel TwentySeven and won the competition with the Cari\u00f1o, inspired by the Spanish term, \u2018te tengo cari\u00f1o\u2019 that refers to love and companionship. This year he will be part of the 4-person jury team. The Dutch Raysa Straal follows in his footsteps, she makes her debut in the competition with her cocktail ‘Envious’.<\/p>\n

2 parts BACARD\u00cd Reserva Ocho<\/p>\n

1\/5 part Yellow Chartreuse<\/p>\n

1 1\/5 part Greek yogurt<\/p>\n

4\/5 part vanilla syrup<\/p>\n

2\/5 part lime juice<\/p>\n
