Last year AccorHotels launched their Flying Nest concept. With its bold design, this new concept of mobile and sustainable accommodation is in line with AccorHotels\u2019 innovative approach of constantly rethinking tomorrow\u2019s hospitality in response to a strong trend, that of guests expecting to enjoy exclusive and intense experiences.<\/p>\n

Unique hotel rooms for large entertainment and sporting events anywhere in the world. That is what AccorHotels wants to achieve with their Flying Nest concept. Last year the concept had a successful pilot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and won the award for ‘Best Innovation in Hotel Concept 2018’ at the World Wide Hospitality Awards. Meanwhile, the concept has already been at various events.<\/p>\n

Flying Nest | A mobile and flexible accommodation concept<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Last year we mentioned the Flying Nest concept in our \u2018Trends we spotted in week 28\u2019<\/a> but now we spotted the images and we really wanted to share them with you guys.\u00a0AccorHotels\u2019 <\/a>twofold objective is to provide its customers with unique hospitality experiences during outstanding events and to meet accommodation needs where hotel capacity is at saturation point. \u201cOriginally developed for a B-to-B clientele (event organizing agencies, exhibition organizers, festivals, events, corporate clients, AccorHotels partners, etc.), the Flying Nest concept could also be offered to a B-to-C target in 2019\u201d, said S\u00e9bastien Dupic, New Business Senior Project Manager at AccorHotels<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Flying Nest accommodation solution uses converted marine containers, ensuring quick and easy transportation of the modules. To assemble the guestrooms and deliver this innovative concept in record time, AccorHotels has partnered with Capsa, a Lyon-based start-up specializing in the conversion of these modules.<\/p>\n

The concept is meant to offer unique experiences at special events. During one of the largest sporting events in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018, the hotel was installed. For the preparation of the 25 rooms they didn\u2019t even need a full day. Guests were so close to the circuit that they could watch the event from their bed. The Flying Nest was also present at the Photography Festival in Les Rencontres d’Arles and at 1,800 heights in the ski area of Avoriaz in France, but can also be booked for private events.<\/p>\n

Bold, modern design for comfort and connectivity<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ora-\u00efto<\/u><\/a>, one of the most celebrated designers of his generation, has designed these mobile guestrooms. Created to offer a functional and pleasant experience, each island consists of six modules cladded with raw and natural materials and decked out with all the comfort of a hotel room; Sweet Bed by ibis bedding, private bathroom, air-conditioned living area and Wi-Fi connection.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe layout of the islands, the patio and the large windows connecting the inside of each room to the outside all provide guests with a totally immersive accommodation option at the heart of the\u00a0 experience\u201d, said Damien Perrot, Senior Vice President Design at AccorHotels.<\/p>\n

An environmentally sensitive hospitality solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Flying Nest modules have been designed with sustainability in mind: materials, techniques and equipment are all environmentally friendly. For example: fair trade amenities, environmentally certified paint, wood cladding from environmentally managed forests and LED lighting.
