The Ultimate Flight Experience opened her doors to the public on Thursday 12 October 2017. THIS IS HOLLAND offers visitors the chance to feel, see and experience The Netherlands in just one hour. During a 60 minute tour visitors will be presented with an inspiring story about the history of The Netherlands. The story is told and supported by different multimedia resources. The highlight of THIS IS HOLLAND is the Flying Theatre where the visitor will fly over 22 beautiful sites located in The Netherlands in a nine minute film.<\/p>\n

A unique film production<\/strong><\/h3>\n

During a period of one and a half year the team of THIS IS HOLLAND<\/a>, in collaboration with EMS-Films and Cineflight, filmed The Netherlands with a special camera attached to a helicopter and flew over a few UNESCO World Heritage sites. More than 32 flight hours with the helicopter are the basis of this unique flight experience. Dennis Bots, creative director of the film, was given the assignment to make a suitable selection out of all filmed material: \u201cFor this project it was amazing to not only direct the film, but also be able to play with movement and stimulating the senses. This is what makes it a complete experience and gives the visitor the feeling that they are really flying through the air.\u201d The music is composed by Ren\u00e9 Merkelbach and performed by a symphonic orchestra of 40 musicians.<\/p>\n

The film experience is supported by a special flight simulator named \u2018I-ride\u2019. Each experience has the capacity to let 40 persons experience this unique flight. You will be suspended under a huge domed screen, with your hands and feet dangling freely. The experience is further strengthened by the music and special effects like wind, mist and scents.<\/p>\n

THIS IS HOLLAND is supported by UNESCO World Heritage in The Netherlands. THIS IS HOLLAND is used as an informative platform to present the 10 Dutch World Heritage sites and tells the remarkable story of The Netherlands, water management and landscape design.<\/p>\n

This Is Holland is located at Overhoeksplein 51 in Amsterdam North, between A\u2019DAM Lookout and EYE Filmmuseum. An easy accessible location can be reached by a free ferry (towards Buiksloterweg) which departs behind Amsterdam Central Station or by car from highway A10.
