This week, the first edition of the Amsterdam Cocktail Week started and a \u2018must see\u2019 is the Tunes Bar at the Conservatorium Hotel. Last week they launched Tunes Around The World, a tantalizing trip around the world in eleven exciting cocktail & foodpairings. The plans from Bar Manager Tim Hoevenagel and Chef Schilo van Coevorden are ambitious: Tunes should be a destination bar for all cocktails.<\/p>\n

Tunes Bar<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The opening of Tunes Bar<\/a> as Amsterdam\u2019s first Gin & Tonic bar five years ago was the birth of the largest cocktail hype to date. As they felt that they had nothing left to prove, Tim Hoevenagel and Schilo van Coevorden went looking for a new challenge. Tunes Around The World was born: an exciting cocktailmenu that takes you on a trip around the world with eleven eye-catching cocktails and matching bites. Including new techniques such as using smoke, infusions and spectacular new glassware. The tasteful and original bites are served on a typical boca (bread) which suits the destinations and can be ordered throughout the Bocas del Mundo menu.<\/p>\n

We were invited to join the official take-off last week. A few of the new cocktails and bites were presented during this evening. Cocktails such as \u2018The American Dream\u2019 and \u2018Mediterranean Madness\u2019 were served in new glassware and were very well received. Tim Hoevenagel about this new adventure: \u201cGuests from all over the world are able to drink their favourite cocktail in Tunes. To give something back to our international guests Tunes Around The World was launched. Cocktails inspired on continents instead of seasons. After wine-, water- and tea pairings we now developed cocktail pairing.<\/p>\n

Schilo van Coevorden: \u201cIf guests order one of the Tunes Around The World cocktails they receive a flight ticket with the destination on it, after collecting all the continents guests can get the next destination on the house<\/em>. Guests can collect Tunes Miles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amsterdam Cocktail Week<\/strong><\/h3>\n
