Carthusian monks have been producing Chartreuse in the French Alps since the 1700s. At the Monastery of the Grand Chartreuse, only two monks are entrusted with the precise recipe of 130 herbs, spices, and flowers macerated to make the stuff. The green version, with its witchy luminosity and bite, has always enjoyed particular distinction as a traditional after-dinner drink in its native land. Yellow Chartreuse, the younger, less glamorous sister of the iconic Green is increasing in sales over the same time that the green Chartreuse sales was up 15 percent. Yellow Chartreuse is softer and smoother than green. Now popular in the cocktail scene with in the article recipes from the bar Death & Co. in NYC: cocktail Naked & Famous; cocktail The Yellow Rose of Texas from cocktail bar Violet Hour in Chicago; cocktail The Yellow Cactus Flower from French restaurant Le Coucou in NYC and an Alaska Cocktail.

Ritz Carlton in a train | Japan

Japan’s ultra-luxe train, called the Twilight Express Mizukaze has 10 coaches and has recently been unveiled by the West Japan Railway Co.
