The goal: find a way to interact again with friends and family members. But the way the people react, the ad is more another way to gain a lot of free publicity with phoneless dinners. We have seen a couple of them in the past: signs with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/my-phone-is-off-for-you-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">I\u2019ll put my phone off for you<\/a> (2010) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/2945\/\" target=\"_blank\">Droste\u2019s Logeren &amp; Dineren sign<\/a> in 2014. A restaurant owner in Israel even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/turn-off-your-smartphone-and-get-discount\/\" target=\"_blank\">gave a discount<\/a> if you did put your phone off. And a Mobile Parking Lot: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/parkthatphone-in-your-mobile-parking-lot\/\" target=\"_blank\">ParkthatPhone<\/a> a semi new non-tech invention to spice up your meeting room.<\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019re annoyed by friends or family who are more interested in their smartphones than in the conversation with you: well you could try one of the examples above but at least let them know it\u2019s annoying!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s a fact that our smartphones have become a huge part of most of our lives.
