At this moment the lobby of building 88 at the Spoorzone (Railway zone) is still under construction but as from next Thursday you\u2019re supposed to smell fish, meat and vegetables here. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/foodhall88\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Foodhall 88<\/a> is open until late April.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Foodhall 88<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Foodhall 88 will become the spot to have a bite and a drink in Tilburg during the weekends. \u201cAllthough the food halls are immense popular worldwide, the first food halls in the Netherlands only started two years ago, build by entrepreneurs with foodtrucks.\u201d, according to Eric de Bont from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rolling-events.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rolling Events<\/a>. Together with Kim van der Hoff (owner of foodtruck <a href=\"http:\/\/www.puravida-ontour.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pura Vida<\/a>) and Erwin Schellekens\u00a0 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.locbrewery.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">LOC brewery<\/a> he founded this pop-up food hall. This is a small selection of de cooperating partners at Foodhall 88.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Bakboord\u2019 will serve fish, \u2018De Melksnor (translated as \u2018the Milk Moustache\u2019) with Dutch hotdogs and \u00a0\u2018Smeer\u2019m\u2019 with \u2018bitterballen\u2019 (small Dutch croquettes). Besides that, there will be the \u2018Dessert Ladies\u2019 who do entertain the children as well as serving desserts. At \u2018Leut van de Bont\u2019 you can drink a cup of coffee, tea\u00a0and eat pastries. Also, there will be a corner for a changing caterer in which tapas bar \u2018Roots\u2019 will be first. \u201cEverything fits the big picture we have in mind for Foodhall 88\u201d, says a happy Eric de Bont. \u201cThe idea is to offer a variety of food to the local guests, made by local companies with products from local suppliers. The idea is to create a setting in which you will meet with friends, grab a bite from the different spots at accessible prices. Foodhall 88 is a place for people who are looking for an unique spot.\u201d Next to this there will also be a stage for musician, workshops from suppliers such as a wine-and-dine evening and a kids corner.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the fact that the municipality Tilburg has big plans for building 88, the food hall is only temporary. At the end of April the hall will close and the location will be rebuild for a \u2018house for entrepreneurship Tilburg.\u2019 Eric de Bont: \u201cIf Foodhall 88 becomes a great success I cannot exclude the food hall to pop-up somewhere else in Tilburg\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On the 18<sup>th<\/sup> of February the doors will open for this \u2018food-event\u2019 in hall 88 at the Spoorzone. The food hall will first be open on Fridays and Saturdays.
