From 6 to 12 October home cooks could win a special prize by sharing the taste of Vadouvan by Jonnie Boer with their neighbors. The 20 home cooks who shared the most meals with Vadouvan, won a cooking workshop at the Librije(***) worth of \u20ac 95, -. The workshop will take place at the end of this year and gives the winners the opportunity to cook in a professional kitchen. During the workshop, the 20 winners will prepare three dishes featuring the Vadouvan spices of the \u2018Original Spices’ line by Jonnie Boer. The master chef himself will provide the winners with tips and preparation techniques.<\/p>\n

This promotion has been launched in collaboration with the online platform \u2018thuisafgehaald.nl\u2019 to promote the new spice melange. Vadouvan is a slightly sweet curry spice that is originated in India. The melange can be bought in two Dutch grocery stores and it can be used as seasoning for chicken and fish or as a substitute for normal curry powder.<\/p>\n
The home cooks published some examples of dishes they prepared with the Vadouvan spices on the website thuisafgehaald.nl. For example: we saw a roti with the spices and a chicory-potato-pie made with potatoes, chicory, onions, garlic, cream, gorgonzola, cheddar and the Vadouvan spices. We also saw a pumpkin soup, whereby the pumpkin has been coated with Vadouvan and cooked in the oven.<\/p>\n
