The Ice Cream Project by Anya Hindmarch is open in the Village Hall at 11 Pont Street in London until August 28^th , and they introduce a very special flavour line up. The Ice Cream Project is the latest concept store at The Village – offering a collection of unexpectedly delicious ice creams and sorbets celebrating Anya Hindmarch’s favourite cult food brands.

We did spot this spectacular ice cream project on Instagram and we wonder if these flavours would be inspiration for other ice cream parlours? And we have spotted a lot of ice cream inspiration but these flavours are special!

IJsvogel is the first real brewer’s grain ice cream in the Netherlands

IJsvogel (Kingfisher bird) is a new and unique vegan waste-free ice cream. This collab from ice cream makers IJsbaart and beer brewery Bird Brewery uses brewer’s grain, a residual product from the brewing process. Then, through a unique process, the brewer’s grain is turned into milk. This forms the basis for the ice cream mix. The basis is finally flavored with a Russian Imperial Stout beer, chocolate and coconut. The brewer’s grain ice cream will be launched on May 13, 14 and 15 during Festivalk at House of Bird in the Diemerbos near Amsterdam.

Smullies Maastricht | Trendy patisserie shop and ice cream parlour

Since 10 March 2022, Maastricht has been home to a trendy and special patisserie shop and ice cream parlour. Servais Tielman of Michelin-starred restaurant Beluga Loves You and his partners opened ‘Smullies Maastricht’, a unique and trendy shop with unique ice cream flavours, exceptional patisserie, smoothies, milkshakes and coffee. Smullies is located at Frankenstraat 198 and has a striking interior in pastel pink colours and gold. In May 2022 the second branch will open in the new Foodchurch in the Boschstraat in Maastricht.

A trendy new address to go to when you go to the most touristic city in the south of the Netherlands, Maastricht! Here you can enjoy a cup of slow roast coffee with a Big Boy Macaron from the Michelin-starred restaurant Beluga Loves You or an éclair or madeleines or….. Or ‘just’ an ice cream: the pink ruby chocolate ice cream with raspberry and rose water sounds delicious, right?

10 Ice cream inspiration ideas | Inspiration for a long, hot summer of hospitality

What’s going to be a trend in ice cream this summer? Throughout the past year we have seen that comfort food was very popular in the take-away and delivery market, Jonnie and Thérèse Boer of the Dutch 3 Michelin stars restaurant De Librije reopened last week with in–room dining (March 19) with a menu of 6 classic dishes from 30 years De Librije. Does that mean that we’re mainly craving the classic ice cream flavours this summer? At Horecatrends, we think that the flavours vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate and strawberry will of course remain favourite. But there is a lot more to choose from… Ice cream maker Rob Kok (IJspaleis Driehuis) came up with a solution for doubting guests in 2016, the ‘ehh ice cream’!

Barton G | Oops, I Dropped My Ice Cream Cone

Those who are fans of exceptional hospitality concepts will certainly know the Barton G restaurants in Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles. This concept is known for their eccentric and theatrical dishes that are more than Instagrammable. In addition, they also taste above average. One of the latest creations of the restaurant is again one for the books. The “Oops, I Dropped My Ice Cream Cone” is about 10 kilos in weight and must be carried to the table by two people before it can be eaten.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream recently opened a pop-up vegan ice cream shop in the JuiceBrothers kiosk on the Admiraal de Ruyterweg in Amsterdam. The JuiceBrothers kiosk will be entirely devoted to vegan ice cream this summer. In addition to the Van Leeuwen ice cream, customers can still buy the JuiceBrothers’ juices.
