The popular and approachable concept by chef-founder Cédric Mosbeux, known for its award-winning artisan grey shrimp croquettes and Belgian classics, will thus gain a third location, featuring its own Antwerp twist.

Frank is opening a second location in Brussels, in the plinth of the new Citybox hotel on Stephania Square, in the Louiza neighbourhood. The new spot builds on the success of owners Mathias and Marianne’s first shop, next to the Monnaie. Frank’s philosophy will continue in the second establishment both during the day and in the evening. Frank and the hotel will open its doors in early September.

Gin brand Bombay Sapphire and tonic producer Fever-Tree will open a gin & tonic pop-up bar from 29 May to 5 July. The finest gin & tonic combinations will be served. The pop-up bar opens in ‘Les Jardins de Bagatelle’, the inspiring gardens in the center of Brussels. A select group of Brussels artists have been asked to make their own Signature Gin & Tonic inspired by the classic gin & tonic. On 5 June Michelin star chef Bart de Pooter and Oscar-winning artist Stéphane Halleux will show their Signature Gin & Tonic and on 18 June culinary artist Laurence Soetens and fashion guru Didier Vervaeren will introduce theirs.

Pistolet shop Brussels

A shop that is fully dedicated to the perfect pistolet: a white and round bread with a crispy crust and a slit at the top. Pistolet-original opened its doors in Brussels last year. The breads sold are made according to the recipe of baker Yves Guns and are topped with fillings like shrimps from Zeebrugge, beef with pickles and Ardennes Hesp. The recipes are made along with top chefs Pierre Wynants and Freddy Vandecasserie. Pistolet-original also sells small seasonal dishes, desserts, drinks and a variety of Belgian beers. BrusselKale is a brand new vegetable that’s a cross between two ‘super foods’, Brussels sprouts and kale. BrusselKale has a flavor that’s milder than either Brussels sprouts or kale and contains double the amount of vitamin B6 and vitamin C of Brussels sprouts. ‘BrusselKale’ is a registered trademark of Rock Garden, USA. To emphasize the fast train connection between Lyon and Brussels, the SNCF invited people in Lyon, on the 21st and 22nd of September 2012, to take a look in Brussels. On a square a giant cube was placed, with only a small hole. Through the hole people took a look in Brussels, where they met the mayor, his band and inhabitants, in style through a video connection.
